Stay-At-Home-Mom Celebration!

Sorry that I haven't updated the blog in a little while....it has been a bit wild around here lately.  This is a little run down of what my family is up to:

- My husband is 4 months into his new job as a police officer and is working graveyards.
- We have a 6-month old baby (we all know how time consuming that can be!).
- I'm working on this business like mad.
- We are in the middle of building a new house (we are building it ourselves too - my father-in-law is amazing, and he and a family friend are doing almost all the work themselves, with my husband helping whenever he can).

(Had to slip this in here, lol)

So, needless to say, I've been having trouble keeping up with myself!!  I sure appreciate all of you patiently awaiting the next pattern, and always being so wonderfully supportive when I am able to get new ones out.

My last blog was about how my husband and I had been going around about me quitting my job....and....I finally get to!!! Yay!  Tomorrow is my last day at work, and I will be stay-at-home full time!  Charlie and I will hang out during the day, and I'll be ferociously knitting away at night (I'll find time to sleep in there somewhere, ha ha).

In celebration of all the wonderful things going on in my life, but mostly of being able to stay home full-time, I'd like to do a little give away!!  I also think it will be a nice bribe to get people to come visit my blog and comment letting me know just a little bit about them....I'd really love to know a bit more about the people I spend so much of my day with :)

So, there will be three winners, and each will win a pattern of their choice!  In order to enter, follow my blog, share my Facebook page on your Facebook wall, business page, blogs, etc. and comment below letting me know a bit about yourself - something like your name, whether you mainly knit or crochet, and then something fun!  I will randomly select the three winners out of those who participate Friday evening.

I can't wait to meet all of you!!  Fun, fun, fun!

Melody

  1. Hi Melody,
I'm on a crochet kick right now ... can't seem to get enough! Sounds like you're enjoying being a stay-at-home mom ... I'm glad you get to spend that time with you baby! My "baby" is 14 (years, not months!) and he's a ton of fun! Everyone will tell you "they grow up so fast" ... it's true! My something fun is "someone" fun ... my sister! I absolutely love her and can't get enough of her ... she always makes me laugh!!

  2. Hey Melody! Love your new house, it's lovely! So, you want to know a little about me, huh? I've been crocheting for about 12 years. I've been a fan of thread for years, but now I'm making mostly photo props and absolutely loving it! Lately I have really been wanting to learn how to knit. Your butterfly pattern is what encouraged me to learn so I'd eventually be able to make it. I'm excited for the challenge. And, someday, when I can call myself a knitter, I'll be making your cable hat! I can't wait for your new pattern to be released, it's beyond precious!!! :) You're going to be a huge success!!

  3. Hey there! I'm a past tester of your butterfly pattern! I'm currently doing something similar to you in that I've reduced (to 1 night a week) my work. I'd love to advance my crafting business (I can sew, knit, crochet, whatever!) also! I'm not where you are, but it's fun playing! I'm an RN who works the night shift like your husband so I can sympathize! I work with babies at the hospital so I have blast trying my projects on the little ones!

  4. Hi Melody! I am a retired homemaker (no children) who just took up knitting seriously again after not doing it for 20 years. I garden, play golf, make bead jewelry, and have been on several ghost investigations, like on the show "Ghost Hunters". I mostly knit for gifts...both for babies and girlfriends. I like to do projects such as hats and booties for babies, and lace scarves for girlfriends. My brother and stepson are both police officers, so thank you to your husband for his service.

  6. Hi Melody, I'm Robin and I learned to crochet from my grandma when I was small. I taught myself to knit and now do both as well as sew for my 3yo granddaughter. I'd love to win one of your patterns - they are lovely. Thanks!

  8. Hi Melody! I just became a fan of yours 2 days ago and already LOVE your patterns! I LOVE the butterfly and bumble bee. I would love to see a lady bug, caterpillar, etc like that. You do a great job! Congrats on becoming a SAHM. My husband is a police officer too. He works 2nd shift now but the real money is the "details" or "off duty" work as they call it here. So I stay home with the kiddos but they're now all in school. My oldest is 17 years and my youngest are 5 year old twins - all girls and none in between! That's fun, right? Now that they're in kindergarten I am working on building up ready to ship inventory for my shop while I have the quiet time during the day. Again thank you for the great patterns! I can't wait to see the cabled one, the one I am going to be testing for you and of course that precious bonnet! (Mandi Yelland)

  9. Hi Melody! My name is Gena, I live in SE Colorado. I just started crocheting in June. My sister does both knitting and crochet and since I'm in love with your cupcake pattern I would love to win a copy for her to make for me LOL. It might be easier if I just learn to knit too....

  16. My name is Chelsea, and I have lots of friends having babies. I've been trying to find patterns to knit them various things, but I have yet to find anything as adorable as your patterns. I just discovered your page via ravelry recently, so I'm catching up on reading some of your stuff. I work full time and got a degree in Anthropology. I'm working on hopefully getting a Nursing degree, but am mid applications right now. I am a Sorority woman, an Anthropologist at heart, a girlfriend, and I learned knitting from my mom at a very young age. Knitting is pretty much the only thing we've ever had in common, so it was an important part of my growing up. I'd love to be included too.

  17. My name is Dawn. I'm a crocheter, thru and thru... lol... but knitting is one of those things I just gotta learn (at least that's what I keep telling my hubby... and what he has been telling me to learn--- if you can belive that!!) I was taught how to crochet when I was around 6 or 7. Only did it on and off, until this last year. I basically am a "Crocheter for Hire," but I have done a few things of my own design. I also have 3 kids, ages 17 years, 4 1/2 years, and almost 2 years. I work full time in a hospital in patient care. I was brought to your facebook page by Dusty at Crochet My Love Designs, because I have a work friend that knits and couldn't find as darling a pattern as yours anywhere. Especially since she's expecting her first baby soon!... she was so excited to be picked to try one of your patterns!
